Welcome to SomechoA, a delightful cafe nestled in the heart of Nara, Japan. Here, you're not just arriving at a coffee shop; you’re stepping into a culinary haven that celebrates both local and Korean flavors. With a cozy atmosphere and a focus on delightful presentation, SomechoA promises an experience that is as visually appealing as it is delicious.

As soon as you step through the door, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixes tantalizingly with the sweet and savory offerings from the kitchen. The first thing to catch your eye might just be their 期間限定 (limited-time) specialties. Last year's favorite, the すだち冷麺 (sudachi cold noodles), makes a return, bursting with citrusy freshness, while newcomers like the レモン冷麺 (lemon cold noodles) offer a zesty twist that is sure to excite your taste buds.

For those with a sweet tooth, you simply must try the signature 鹿プリン (deer pudding), a charming treat presented in the shape of Nara's beloved deer. It's not just cute; it has a rich and creamy texture that will leave you yearning for another spoonful. Pair it with their sumptuous NYチーズケーキ (New York cheesecake), featuring a rich, velvety cheese layer on a chocolate crust, and topped with a delightful blueberry sauce that adds a pop of flavor—all for just JP¥638.

If savory delights are more your style, the cafe's 韓国チキン (Korean chicken) is a must-try, available in generous portions of 3 or 5 pieces. Choose from a variety of mouthwatering sauces, from the classic plain to adventurous flavors like ハニーマスタード (honey mustard) and コチュマヨ (gochujang mayo). The crispy chicken, paired with any of these tantalizing flavors, is perfect for sharing—or keeping all to yourself!

One of the standout features of SomechoA is its inviting atmosphere. Customers continuously praise the cafe, with one visitor noting its excellent coffee selection and enjoyable music ambiance, making it the perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. Past patrons rave about the French toast, which many find to be a delightful breakfast or dessert option, echoing a sentiment that resonates throughout the reviews: this cafe is all about creating a special moment over great food.

Whether you're on a casual caffeine run or looking for a full meal before exploring Nara's stunning temples and parks, SomechoA truly caters to all. With reasonable prices, friendly service, and a menu that expertly balances local and international flavors, this cafe is a gem waiting to be discovered.

Great fried chicken! We tried many flavors, the #1 was our favorite. The maple, cheese, and curry flavors were excellent as was the fried cheese. The chicken was crisp, and juicy! Get the jiggling pudding bambi & cat (milk tea and Sakura) for dessert! So fun!

Really nice coffee shop. We took Americano and cappuccino. Also this pudding cat shaped, really cute but also good. The music was really good and not too loud. They also have a big selection to eat and dinner.

Great stop from the JR train to Nara deer park and Todaji temple. Onigri rice balls and miso soup was perfect! The French toast was delicious! Everything super affordable and yummy!

We went for lunchtime at 2pm and it was empty. You order from your phone through a QR code at the table. The website is barely English friendly, but we were able to figure it out. We ordered a Mojito, peach beer, kimchi fried rice, and Tofu jjigae. The tofu jjigae was delightful (called Soondubu Jjigae on the website, but Tofu jjigae on the menu). The kimchi fried rice could have been much better if there was more kimchi/flavor- but overall a good meal!
